PENGUINS TO FACE ICECAPS IN SECOND ROUND

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will face the St. John's IceCaps in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, it was announced on Friday night.

The Penguins advanced to the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs after battling past the Hershey Bears in four games in the best-of-five first round. St. John's moved on after dispatching the Syracuse Crunch in four games as well.

The IceCaps, who captured the Atlantic Division regular season title with a record of 43-25-5-3 in their first season, have home ice advantage in the series, and will host Games 1 and 2 this coming Tuesday and Wednesday night. The series shifts to Wilkes-Barre for Games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary), with Games 6 and 7 (if necessary) being played in St. John's. The full schedule is listed below.

The Penguins posted a 2-2-0-0 record against the IceCaps this season, winning in Newfoundland on January 14 and 15 (6-4 and 4-3 in overtime). St. John's recorded 5-2 and 2-0 wins in Northeast PA on March 6 and March 24, respectively.
