SALUTE FROM SOURIS

Northeast PA isn't the only place you'll find Penguins fans. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has a following across North America, thanks in part to our network of Penguins alums.

One of those former flightless fowl is Jonathan Filewich. A member of the 2008 Calder Cup Finals team, Filly played parts of four seasons with the Penguins, recording 64 goals and 127 points in 243 games. He led the team with 30 goals in 2006-07, and tied for the team lead with 56 points that season, while representing the Pens at the All-Star Game in Toronto.

Filly and his wife, Lindsay, are now living north of the border in Souris, Manitoba, just about 100 miles west of Winnipeg. Even though he's retired from playing professionally, he still stays involved with hockey by coaching in the Souris Elks youth hockey organization.

Jonathan Filewich and the Souris Elks - We Salute YOU

A big thanks to Filly and the Souris Elks for sending in these stick salute photos. Don't forget to send your own shots in of you and your friends/family saluting the team as we head into the Calder Cup Playoffs. Snap a shot and send it to webinquiry@wbspenguins.com , and you could be featured on the Pens playoff blog, the team website, Facebook page and on the videoboard this weekend.

Thanks for your support of the Penguins. WE SALUTE YOU!
